We started the day off with a pancake breakfast at the church. They had a program with songs and readings. Blake sang in a barber shop quartet, the kids sang a song, and I played the piano for the Primary (kids in our church age 3-11). For all my church friends who understand what I'm talking, my calling is the Primary pianist. Fun, but rather nerve-wracking for me. The kids played games and got their faces painted. This one sent Blake into uncontrollable laughter.
We normally go swimming on the 4th of July, but we didn't feel like it this year. (Well, mom and dad didn't feel like it. The kids always want to go.) Instead, we cleaned out the garage. Woohoo! Caleb helped Dad pound nails in the wall.
That's all stuff for Goodwill or the trash. We got lots done. Tired:
We went to see fireworks. We found/met a bunch of friends from church and the neighborhood.
Katie has never liked fireworks. Too loud for her poor ears.
Anna wanted to pose with fireworks in the background.
So of course Katie had to copy her sister.
Then we headed home for showers. It takes a really long time to get 7 showers done, especially if you start after fireworks. We didn't get them all in bed till about midnight.
