I forgot to post about this. (This is from June 30th - for my own records). Poor Caleb had a bad asthma attack. He was fine when he went to bed, woke up at 4:30 am coughing. I used his inhaler on him and we both went back to sleep. Then throughout the day, he got progressively worse and needed his inhaler more and more often, to the point that it wasn't working. He couldn't even talk between coughing/breathing. So we took him to the ER. He had a slight fever - 100.5, so he must have had a virus that triggered the attack. They gave him 4 different breathing treatments with different medicines each time. One of them was a 1-hour long treatment! Poor guy - that was a loooong time for him. He got albuterol, epinephrine and 2 others that I can't remember. They helped, but not much. His oxygen kept dropping. So they admitted him. I hadn't planned on that - I hadn't even had a shower that day. I planned on showering when I got home. Don't you usually go to the ER, they say it's a virus and send you home?! So he was on oxygen and tons of inhaled medicines. They also put him on an oral steroid. Oral steroids plus Caleb = CRAZY! He was on the oral steroid for 5 days and I swear he never stopped talking or bouncing off the walls. He was happy and nice, just super energized. I believe he talked so much and so fast that he could have had multiple conversations at once. Blake came up the next day and gave him a blessing and he immediately started improving. They sent him home after 24 hours. He's doing much better now - 100% back to normal, although he's still on inhaled steroids. That was just crazy for him to go from perfectly fine to bad in such a short time. It was rather scary. I'm so glad he's ok though, and that he recovered quickly.
His hour-long breathing treatment... thank goodness for Lightning McQueen. :)
