13 years ago people warned us how horrible it would be having 4 teenagers at once. Well, the day has come - we have 4 teenagers! I have to say it's not as bad as they all made it sound. They're good kids.
So Anna is 13! She had a whole bunch of celebrating and a lot of people who really made her feel loved and special... that's because she is loved and special.
She had a "Glow-in-the-Dark" party on Friday (the 13th). She invited 11 girls (and an extra one showed up), plus her brothers and sisters. Kinda crazy, but really fun!
I had some games ready for them to play, but really just left them to themselves to do what they wanted. They played some "bunny bunny" game that I still don't know how to play.
Missionary tag... I think that's what this is called. I just watched as they all ran around and laughed. It looked like fun.
We opened gifts while it was still light.
I think she likes this Rainbow Loom. Apparently it's all the rage. Again, I'm clueless and just watched.
A cute picture of Lyddy.
I got some glow in the dark balls and they played dodge ball and volley ball.
Then I passed out glow necklaces and glow bracelets and we played Capture the Flag. The girls couldn't figure out how to play it, so I joined them and had a lot of fun. Apparently this generation only knows how to play iElectronics.
There was a strange light glowing in the distance. (I think it was a police car.) I told all the girls it was a UFO and they freaked out! Too funny.
Then we played the candy bar game. I've explained how to play it before. The hit candy bars were Cookies and Cream and a Baby Bottle Pop. I think it's weird they all wanted the Baby Bottle Pop. That was the cheapest "candy bar" I bought, and I picked it up last because I could only find 19 different candy bars and needed one more. Who knew it would be the favorite?
Notice the glowing cups. They also snacked on tons of chips and soda in glow-in-the-dark cups. 13 year old girls can eat a LOT of chips and drink a LOT of soda. There was nothing left at the end of the night.
It was a fun, easy party, and Anna and her friends really enjoyed it!
I took pizza to school on Monday (her real birthday) so she could share with all her friends. They all sang happy birthday to her and made a big deal. I got pictures, but I can't find them. They're just gone. Weird.
Many people called and her young women's leader even showed up with cupcakes. Anna felt very loved. She's an amazing person who touches so many lives every day. Happy Birthday Anna!!
