Girls' Room

This was done ages ago, but since I posted Michael's and Caleb's room, I thought I would post the girls' room too.  This is mostly for my sister who wanted to see what I did (like a couple years ago) and who still complains that I've never shown her pictures.  Oops.  I didn't do much planning before doing their room like I did on the boys' rooms.  I've been slowly learning.  ;)  We already had 2 of the quilts for Katie and Lydia and I love them, so I decided to just get 2 more.  We painted the walls to match the quilt.  (And I love the walls btw too!  I love that color of yellow.  I couldn't have picked a better color with more planning.)  So the real change is that I wanted to personalize their space a little more.  All 4 of them share a room (and like it that way).  I wanted to make sure they each had a little more personal space.  So I painted and hung shelves for their "special" things... plus it could hold stuff like an alarm clock and book that would be close to their beds since they don't have room for a nightstand.  These pics are a bit old and a few things have changed, but here's the gist.  I also added their names in vinyl, some cute flower/butterfly decals, hanging butterflies, curtains, and a new bulletin board and light switch cover.  I like how it turned out.  Maybe some day they won't all be squished into one room, but I won't wish for that because that would mean Nathan and Michael are out of the house and I'm not ready for that.  And like I said, they like it so we'll just leave everything the way it is - no change allowed!  ;)

BEFORE:

Katie and Anna's bed.  My sister made these quilts and they love them.  They still use them (and still love them), I just wanted something that matched.

AFTER:
I found the curtains at Kohls and everything else at Target.  I find it amazing that they match so well.
The bulletin board I made at church.  I didn't realize we could pick what paper we wanted for it or I would have chosen something that matched their room better.  Oh well, it was still fun making it, it almost matches, and my girls like and use it.

Name and shelves.  Lydia's looks crooked in this picture.  I promise it's not.

Katie's favorite Backyardigans on her shelf.  Next to Celine, they're her favorite things in the whole world.  They go everywhere with her.
