Decorating the Tree

Well, since that worked... let's move on to decorating the tree.

Anna and Katie dancing to Christmas music.

Lydia helping with the branches.

Yes, even Christmas tree limbs can be used as a sword.  Caleb and Michael had a few battles.

I love this picture!

Elizabeth and Caleb "helping" with the lights.  Look at how determined Caleb is to figure those out!

"Fluffing" the branches.  You don't even want to know all the middle-school jokes that came from that comment!  (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about if you know the "lama" family, especially Blake, Nathan and Michael.)

Nathan helped in between making comments of "fluffing the branches".

Wow, a picture of Katie with a REAL smile!

Nathan has this "tradition" to use both his hands and feet on each branch.  He claims it goes faster that way.  We all claim it just makes him look like a monkey, but he does it anyway every year.

Making progress on the tree and wearing Santa hats and jingle bells like we do every year.

Caleb used the branches to "vacuum".

Elizabeth played in the Christmas tree box.

Almost there!

And yes, TWO pictures of Katie smiling!  She gets so excited for Christmas.  She had so much fun and did her "happy dance" all night.

Lydia made a "nest" in the tinsel.  Here she is pretending to be a chicken sitting on her nest.

We waited till the middle of December to put up the tree because we thought Caleb would destroy it if we put it up earlier.  He has the nickname of "destroyer" and the motto of "anything under 3 feet WILL be destroyed."  Amazingly he did really well and hardly touched it.  It was Lydia who had to be told over and over to leave the ornaments alone.

And all the kids with the finished tree.  (Ignore the zebra.  He was a school project for Lydia - she had to take him everywhere for a weekend.)
