Gingerbread Houses

I think I FINALLY figured out how to post pictures. I've tried this a hundred times and haven't had any success.  Here are a few pics (hopefully) to see if it really works.  This is from early December when we made gingerbread houses. We actually made a gingerbread village so that each kid could make their own little house. It worked great and they all had a FUN time! We also made gingerbread cookies and decorated those too so we could have something good to eat rather than hard gingerbread walls. Blake made the cookies and they turned out SO YUMMY! I wanted SOFT gingerbread cookies and he found an awesome recipe.

Here's Lydia helping Blake make cookies. She loves to cook with him.

Lydia and Anna concentrating very hard.

Nathan made a building with round candies as Christmas lights along the roof.

Elizabeth and red frosting (a messy combination).

Michael really enjoyed decorating and was very meticulous with his house.

Katie wasn't too thrilled about decorating (but she did like eating cookies).

Working hard and having fun.

Blake making gingerbread "bears" since we didn't have a gingerbread "person" cookie cutter.

Caleb loved the bears and could even eat them because they had no nuts.

The whole gang.

And the finished product.
